The five fields represent Minute, Hour, Day of Month, Month, and Day of Week. An asterisk (*) means 'every'. So * * * * * means every minute of every hour of every day.

You can use commas (e.g., 1,15 for the 1st and 15th minute) or hyphens for ranges (e.g., 1-5 for Monday through Friday).

You can use the step operator. By putting */5 in the minute field, the cron job will run every 5 minutes.
