A Cron expression is a string representing the schedule for a command to execute periodically on Unix/Linux based systems. Remembering the exact syntax for minute, hour, day of month, month, and day of week can be tricky.

Gereelde Vrae

The five fields represent Minute, Hour, Day of Month, Month, and Day of Week. An asterisk (*) means 'every'. So * * * * * means every minute of every hour of every day.

You can use commas (e.g., 1,15 for the 1st and 15th minute) or hyphens for ranges (e.g., 1-5 for Monday through Friday).

You can use the step operator. By putting */5 in the minute field, the cron job will run every 5 minutes.
