Waist-to-Height Ratio Calculator

Calculate your waist-to-height ratio (WHtR) to assess cardiovascular health risk and body composition.

Why Waist-to-Height Ratio (WHtR) is a Great Health Indicator

Unlike Body Mass Index (BMI), which only uses total weight, the Waist-to-Height Ratio evaluates where fat is stored. Abdominal fat (visceral fat) is associated with higher risks of cardiovascular disease, high blood pressure, and type 2 diabetes.

A simple rule of thumb for both men and women is to keep your waist circumference to less than half of your height (WHtR < 0.5).

Frequently Asked Questions

WHtR accounts for body fat distribution, focusing on abdominal fat which is metabolically active and more dangerous than fat stored in hips or limbs.
