How Many Days Old Am I?
Most people know their age in years, but very few know how old they are in days, hours, or seconds. Our Age in Different Units calculator takes your birthday and converts it into every major unit of time — from years all the way down to seconds, with a live ticker that updates in real time. It is a fascinating way to put the passage of time into perspective.
For example, a 30-year-old American has lived approximately 10,950 days, 262,800 hours, 15.7 million minutes, and nearly 950 million seconds. The live seconds counter makes these huge numbers visceral and immediate, ticking up one by one as you watch. The tool also shows the day of the week you were born, how many days until your next birthday, and your Western zodiac sign based on your birth month and day.

Frequently Asked Questions
To find out how many days old you are, subtract your birth date from today's date and count the total number of calendar days in between. Our calculator does this automatically — just enter your birthday and click Calculate. As a rough guide: 1 year ≈ 365.25 days (accounting for leap years). So a 25-year-old is approximately 9,131 days old, a 40-year-old is approximately 14,610 days old, and so on. The exact number depends on how many leap years fell within your lifetime.
JavaScript's Date object calculates the day of the week for any historical date using the Gregorian calendar. Our tool displays this in the "Born on" field after you enter your birthday. Fun fact: roughly one in seven people is born on any given weekday, so about 14% of people share each birth day of the week. The most common birth days in the United States are Tuesday and Wednesday, while Sunday is the least common because fewer elective deliveries are scheduled on weekends.
Western astrology divides the year into 12 zodiac signs based on the position of the sun at birth. The signs and their date ranges are: Aries (Mar 21–Apr 19), Taurus (Apr 20–May 20), Gemini (May 21–Jun 20), Cancer (Jun 21–Jul 22), Leo (Jul 23–Aug 22), Virgo (Aug 23–Sep 22), Libra (Sep 23–Oct 22), Scorpio (Oct 23–Nov 21), Sagittarius (Nov 22–Dec 21), Capricorn (Dec 22–Jan 19), Aquarius (Jan 20–Feb 18), Pisces (Feb 19–Mar 20). Our calculator automatically determines your sign from your birth month and day.
Months are calculated by counting the total number of calendar months between your birthday and today, adjusting for whether the current day of the month has passed your birth day. For example, if you were born on March 15 and today is June 10, you have completed 2 full months since your last birthday (March 15 to May 15), with the third month still in progress. This gives a more precise month count than simply dividing total days by 30.44.
