What is a CPS test?
A CPS test (clicks-per-second test) measures how fast you can click your mouse in a set time. Your score is your total clicks divided by the number of seconds — so 60 clicks in 10 seconds is a CPS of 6.0. Gamers use CPS tests to practise fast clicking for games like Minecraft PvP, and to compare click speed with friends. The average click speed is around 6–7 CPS; competitive clickers reach 10+ CPS with techniques like jitter and butterfly clicking.
How to use
- Pick a duration (1, 5, 10, 30 or 60 seconds).
- Click the purple box — the timer starts on your first click.
- Click as fast as you can until the timer runs out.
- Your CPS score and best result appear automatically.
Frequently asked questions
The average is about 6–7 clicks per second over 5 seconds. Above 8 CPS is fast, and 10+ CPS is competitive. On very short 1-second tests, scores are usually higher because you can sprint without tiring.
Jitter clicking is tensing your arm to vibrate your finger rapidly on one button (10–14 CPS). Butterfly clicking alternates two fingers on the same button to roughly double your rate. Both increase CPS but can strain your hand — use them in moderation.
Yes. On a phone or tablet, tap the box instead of clicking — every tap counts. The timer and scoring work the same way.
Completely free, runs entirely in your browser, needs no sign-up, and records nothing — your clicks never leave your device.
